Since 1986, the Road Safety Education Program has provided educational resources and professional development to teachers and early childhood educators throughout NSW.

The program is funded by the Centre for Road Safety, Transport for NSW. It is a partnership with the Association of Independent Schools of NSW, Catholic Schools NSW, Department of Education, and the  Kids and Traffic Early Childhood Road Safety Education Program.

The partnership supports the teaching of road safety to students by classroom teachers. Road safety is taught in NSW schools as part of the Personal Development, Health and Physical Education syllabus from Kindergarten to Year 10.

Safety Town is a road safety education resource for teachers, students and families. It provides a variety of interactive learning activities for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Teachers are provided with comprehensive teaching notes to support the use of the interactive activities, and support learning as part of PDHPE, English and Mathematics.
